Blanche Green, age 87, of Conrad, passed away peacefully on the evening of Monday, April 9th, at the Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2018 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa with Pastor Bobby Shomo officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Conrad Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home where her family will be present to greet friends. Born on February 23rd, 1931, in Illinois, she was the daughter of Paul and Marian (Strong) Conrad. She received her education in the area of her birth and in Minnesota. On January 9th, 1950, she was united in marriage to Edward E. Green in Northwood, IA. They made their home in the Whitten and Conrad rural communities and then into the town of Conrad. She enjoyed camping, children and treasured her family.

She will be greatly missed by her daughter Susan (Floyd) Hills of Conrad, two grandchildren: Robert (Bobbi) Hills and Kristine (John) Wiegand; seven great-grandchildren: Brittany (Ryan) Medina, Brenden Hills (Kailey Balducki), Justin Fisher, Malori (Dylan) Martens, Lindsay Wiegand (Tyler Cramer), Raymond Wiegand and Ashly Wiegand; one very special great-great grandson; Rafael Hansolo Medina. Also surviving her are her brothers Lawrence Wayne Conrad and Clifford Lee Conrad both in Illinois.

In death, Blanche rejoined her beloved husband Edward who died in 1987, her parents, brothers Bill and Bob Conrad and sisters Stella Mae Conrad and Helen Curley.

Delores L. Conrad October 15, 1929 - August 2, 2014 Delores L. Conrad, age 84, of Colo, Iowa, died Saturday, August 2, 2014, at State Center Nursing & Rehab Center where she made her home for the past three years.

        Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at Ryan Funeral Home in Nevada, Iowa, with Reverend Lawrence “Skip” Conrad officiating.  Burial will follow in the Colo Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning 12:30 p.m. Tuesday.

        Born October 15, 1929, in Iowa Falls, Iowa, Delores was one of 13 children born to Jake and Tena (Meyer) Karsjens.  She spent most of her life in the Iowa Falls area and married the love of her life, Paul Conrad, on May 8, 1951, in LeGrand, Iowa.  The couple made their home in Colo.

        Dolores retired from Ames Laundry in 1978 due to health reasons.  She loved spending time with family, friends and neighbors, and also enjoyed plastic crafts when her hands permitted.

        Survivors include her children, Paul (Denise) Conrad of Colo, and Sharon (Keith Johnson) Conrad of Aredale; three grandchildren, Matt (Tiffany) Conrad of Colo, Paul (Annie Ostwald) Conrad, of Colo, and Tiffany (Darren) Geil of Huxley; a great-grandson, Bryon Babino; and two precious great-granddaughters, Alexa Conrad and Amelia Geil.

        She was preceded in death by her husband Paul in 1981; her parents; and all her siblings.

        Ryan Funeral Home of Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Delores and her family.  The family would like to thank State Center Nursing and Rehab and Care Initiatives Hospice for the precious care of their loved one.

*** IN LOVING MEMORY OF *** Helen Irene (Conrad) Curley, 70, of Marshalltown, died early Friday morning, February 29th, at the Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 4th, at the Iowa Veterans Home Chapel. Following cremation rites, she will be laid to rest in the Riverside Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 5-7:00 p.m. on Monday. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. A memorial fund is being established. The Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Helen and her family. Ph 844-1234. Born on March 30th, 1937, in Galesburg, IL, she was the daughter of Paul and Marian (Strong) Conrad. She received her GED in 1986. On March 24th, 1969, she was united in marriage to Bill Curley. They resided in Marshalltown where she was employed at the MMSC, PCA, a bowling alley and enjoyed fishing, camping, reading, motorcycling, crossword puzzles but especially treasured her family. Left to cherish her memory are her loving children: Marian (Robert) Buchanan of Marshalltown, Virginia (Brian) Warner of Pflugerville, TX, Gordon (Nanette) Snyder of Lubbock, TX, Allen Snyder of Marshalltown, CW4 Tim (Kim) Newton of Ft. Bragg, NC, Cindy (Jim) Cruzan of Maxwell, NE and Billie Jean (Kit) Curley of Marshalltown, 17 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, her sister Blanche Greene of Conrad, brothers Lawrence Conrad of Varna, IL and Clifford Conrad of Galesburg, IL. Blanche Green, age 87, of Conrad, passed away peacefully on the evening of Monday, April 9th, at the Oakview Nursing Home in Conrad.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2018 at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown, Iowa with Pastor Bobby Shomo officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Conrad Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Mitchell Family Funeral Home where her family will be present to greet friends. Born on February 23rd, 1931, in Illinois, she was the daughter of Paul and Marian (Strong) Conrad. She received her education in the area of her birth and in Minnesota. On January 9th, 1950, she was united in marriage to Edward E. Green in Northwood, IA. They made their home in the Whitten and Conrad rural communities and then into the town of Conrad. She enjoyed camping, children and treasured her family.

She will be greatly missed by her daughter Susan (Floyd) Hills of Conrad, two grandchildren: Robert (Bobbi) Hills and Kristine (John) Wiegand; seven great-grandchildren: Brittany (Ryan) Medina, Brenden Hills (Kailey Balducki), Justin Fisher, Malori (Dylan) Martens, Lindsay Wiegand (Tyler Cramer), Raymond Wiegand and Ashly Wiegand; one very special great-great grandson; Rafael Hansolo Medina. Also surviving her are her brothers Lawrence Wayne Conrad and Clifford Lee Conrad both in Illinois.

In death, Blanche rejoined her beloved husband Edward who died in 1987, her parents, brothers Bill and Bob Conrad and sisters Stella Mae Conrad and Helen Curley.
